FORWARD When I was a child on the ranch in Oklahoma, Daddy had some older cowmen who worked for him. I would sit and listen to these men who had lived there in Indian Territory when things were really tough, long before we moved there in 1918. They would tell stories of their experiences and things that happened in those days. When I grew older, I began to think those old men were telling a bunch of lies, but as I lived through all kinds of experiences during my own life, I decided that maybe they were telling true stories. I thought what a shame it was that those stories could not be put in book form so everyone could enjoy them. So, I decided to write down some of the stories I remember them telling along with incidents that have happened to me during my lifetime. Tom Murrell |
